This lioness has a rare illness, called heterochromia, either caused by a thorn injury or an eye disease, like cataracts or uveitis. Her vision is weakened, and sadly she is unable to hunt anymore. But she is useful still, as a nanny for other lionesses. Here she is taking care of her sister’s cubs, while her sister is out hunting with the rest of the herd.
